Members of The University of Akron’s Zips Racing Team enjoyed an unforgettable experience during NASCAR weekend at Watkins Glen International in New York. They observed firsthand the intense action of motorsport as they attended qualifying rounds and participated in behind-the-scenes activities with Kaulig Racing, an esteemed stock car team owned by alumni Matt Kaulig.

During their visit, the students got to see how a NASCAR team operates, from technical inspections to interactions with professional drivers. The hands-on learning opportunity showcased both the racing and engineering aspects involved in motor sports.
Andrew Raineri, the Zips Racing team captain, expressed appreciation for the experience, stating, "We really got a general overview of NASCAR and how a team operates on race day."
