Crumbl Critics Club: Where Every Cookie Sparks Connection and Fun

Sweet Beginnings: The Rise of the Crumbl Critics Club

At The University of Akron, what started as a passionate friendship over cookie cravings has transformed into a buzzing community represented by the new Crumbl Critics club. Founded in January 2025 by business data analytics seniors Tyler Shean and Hanna Pope, this club offers a delightful gathering where students can taste, review, and discuss the innovative flavors from the beloved Crumbl Cookies franchise.

Cultivating Community Through Cookies

The Crumbl Critics have quickly become a beacon of fun and community spirit on campus. Each Monday evening, club meetings turn into cream-filled gatherings where nearly 60 members come together, savoring weekly flavors such as chocolate chip, carrot cake, and even the viral Dubai chocolate flavor. “We started off very small,” notes President Shean. “With our advertising and people’s enthusiasm, we’re at the size we are now just ten months later.” This sentiment echoes a trend seen in other university Crumbl clubs, which seek to create communal experiences centered around the love of cookies.

Engaging Data Analysis with Deliciousness

Adding a unique layer to their gatherings, the Crumbl Critics also dive into data analysis after each tasting session. Club leaders compile members’ ratings into graphs and tables, providing insightful feedback on each cookie’s performance. This blend of culinary enjoyment and academic application exemplifies how student organizations can merge fun with learning, enhancing the overall collegiate experience. “We really want to establish a welcoming and engaged community,” said Shean. “This group is mainly just for a good time and to promote good spirit.”

Future Partnerships and Sweet Aspirations

Looking ahead, the Crumbl Critics are keen on partnering more closely with local Crumbl franchises. Earlier in the semester, members received branded gifts from the company itself, hinting at a promising relationship. “We want to establish a partnership that allows us to grow our engagement with Crumbl,” shared Pope. This forward-thinking approach indicates that the Crumbl Critics are not merely indulging in cookie sampling; they also have their eyes set on impactful community involvement.

A Flavorful Invitation to Join

With its emphasis on community, flavor exploration, and academic learning, the Crumbl Critics Club serves as a sweet spot for students looking to blend social interaction with delicious snacks. Anyone interested in taking part can effortlessly join via RooConnect to share in the cookie-loving fun. Shean invites everyone, stating, "We try to build a community with this group, and it’s all about enjoying Crumbl cookies!" As they roll into the week, students at UA will undoubtedly savor both the flavors and friendships formed through this extraordinary club.

Experience the Wonders of the Ocean as Remora Fish Whale-Surf

Update A Joyride of Nature: The Whimsical World of Remora Fish In the majestic ocean depths off the southeast coast of Queensland, Australia, a remarkable phenomenon is unfolding: the partnership between remora fish and humpback whales. Captured in rare footage by marine scientist Dr. Olaf Meynecke, these agile remoras put on a thrilling performance as they hitch a ride on the majestic whales during their migratory journey. Marveling at Nature’s Collaboration The remora, known colloquially as sucker fish, is equipped with a unique adhesive plate that allows it to create a vacuum seal against its host, effectively turning the whale into a floating buffet and transportation vehicle. This one-of-a-kind ‘suction cup’ enables them to cling tightly while feeding on dead skin and sea lice, showcasing an extraordinary example of nature’s symbiotic relationships. Aerial Acrobatics: Speed and Precision As these fish ride the waves, they exhibit incredible timing and precision. Just moments before a whale breaches the surface, groups of remoras release their grip at just the right moment, only to return seamlessly as the whale re-enters the water. This synchronization is not just fascinating to witness; it's essential for their survival. Dr. Meynecke noted that the remoras appear to respond swiftly to changes in water pressure and speed, ensuring they stick the landing with the grace of Olympic gymnasts. Life on the Whale: A Double-Edged Sword While this dance of hitchhiking may seem idyllic, it’s a bittersweet arrangement. Remora fish enjoy the benefits of travel and easy meals, yet their presence may annoy the whales. Dr. Meynecke noted instances where whales seemed to breach repeatedly as if trying to rid themselves of their clingy companions. This dynamic between the giants of the ocean and their sucker fish reveals the complexity of their relationship. Survival Beyond the Sea Giants Though limited in lifespan to about two years, the remoras' journey does not end with their whale hosts. They have adapted to seek out other large animals or even divers when whales aren’t around. This behavior highlights their role in the marine ecosystem as opportunistic feeders. Lessons from the Ocean The captivating behavior of remora fish not only entertains us but serves as a reminder of resilience and adaptability in nature. These remarkable creatures exemplify the extraordinary lengths marine species will go to thrive despite challenges. As we continue to explore and understand our oceans, let us marvel at these unique interactions that define the rich tapestry of marine life. To learn more about the fascinating ecosystem of our oceans and the interspecies relationships that thrive beneath the surface, consider supporting marine research initiatives that help uncover more mysteries of ocean life.
